The following ‘FOR’ statement will appear in the Voters’ Pamphlet for the November 4, 2025 election.
For decades, Lynden High School has served as more than just a place of learning – it has been a place where memories are created, community is formed, and accomplishments are celebrated. Despite diligent, consistent maintenance, the current facilities no longer support the safety and educational needs of a student body that has more than doubled since original construction – adequate spaces are urgently needed to meet today’s standards.
This proposal, focused solely on the high school, reflects the priorities voiced by our community. After dialogue with friends and neighbors, a solutions committee identified this measure as the most cost-effective way to deliver sufficient, functional facilities to support core academics, preparing students for college and or great careers in skilled trades.
The elected school board and citizen-led solutions committee understand that this proposal represents a significant investment – especially during uncertain times. Yet the need for a new high school is pressing and will only grow more costly with delay.
Lynden High School is the path through which the majority of our community’s next generation of employees, employers, and civic leaders will travel. By approving this measure and funding new construction, voters reaffirm their commitment to the next generation of our community.
